It Was Written is Nas second studio album and of course it had to go in my "Classic Album Collection". Released on July 2nd, 1996 the album went Multi Platinum by Septemebr 1996.

It Was Written proved to be Nas' most successful commerical album, selling about three million copies worldwide.

The album peaked at number 1 one the Top R&B And Hip Hop Albums Chart and debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, and the album remained on the charts for 34 weeks and at number 1 for four consecutive weeks.

It Was Written features guest appereance such as AZ, Foxy Brown, Dr. Dre, Cormega, Joel Hailey, Mobb Deep And Lauryn Hill.

Fun Facts:

•Lupe Fiasco stated that "It Was Written" was one of his favorite album and his primary source of inspiration.

•Reggae artist "Matisyahu" also stated that It Was Written was one of his favorite albums as well.
