Before I begin I would like to say Rest In Peace to Lamont Coleman also known as Big L. Big L was fatally shot and killed on February 15, 1999.
Big L was born and raised in the streets of Harlem, New York City. Big L stated in one of his songs that he started rapping at the age of 16. He and a couple of close friends form a group known as "The Hard Way". The group didnt take nothing serious so Big L decided to go solo.
Big L went on rapping solo, he started entering rap tournaments and started winning mostly all of them. Once Big L got noticed, he joined D.I.T.C, A New York City based Hip Hop Group consisting rappers known as O.C., Lord Finesse, Diamond D, Showbiz, A.G., Fat Joe, Buckwild, and the newest member Big L.
D.I.T.C led Big L to a huge success getting him signed to Columbia Records. It only took L was a four song demo tape. The demo tape consisted tracks such as the "Horror Core Establisher", "Devil’s Son" and "Yes, You May Remix".
Big L also released 2 solo albums, One was "Lifestyle Of The Poor And Dangerous" and "The Big Picture". Both albums were incredible.
On February 15, 1999, Big L was murdered on the same streets he grew up in. Big L was shot 7 times in the head and chest.
Big L will always be remember for his amazing punchlines, immaculate flow and basically everything about his music.
